We look forward to providing your parish with beautiful church linen.
Altar linens are an essential accessory for the celebration of Mass. We supply a full range of church linen, including corporals, purificators and more.
All of our products are hand-made in New Zealand according to the exact requirements of the Church. 100% Irish church-grade linen is used, which is both higher quality and harder wearing than standard linen.
The linen we use is ISO accredited, making it a truly environmentally sustainable product. This is especially important, considering the context of the linen's use in the Mass and other ceremonies.
Please note that all linen is made to order, so please allow for processing time.
Thank you for supporting our small business and we look forward to hearing from you.
The corporal is a large linen cloth with an embroidered cross in the centre. It is used to catch any particles of consecrated Host that might fall from the paten during the Mass. It is placed on top of the altar cloth at communion, with the altar vessels (chalice, ciborium, paten etc.) placed on top.
The purificator is a small white linen cloth with an embroidered cross in the centre. It is used to cleanse or dry the altar vessels, especially the chalice. In preparation for communion, the purificator is folded in thirds and placed over the top of the chalice so that the sides hang over, with the cross in the centre.
The pall is a square, stiff linen-covered card with an embroidered cross in the centre. It is used to cover the presider’s chalice during the Mass, so that nothing may fall into the consecrated wine.
The lavabo towel is a linen hand towel with an embroidered cross at the bottom, used by the priest to dry their hands after the washing of hands.
The baptism towel is a linen hand towel with an embroidered shell at the bottom, used during the rite of Baptism used to dry the newly baptised, as well as to dry the priest’s hands.
